Position: System Administrator.

Job Profile: .
Installation and configuration of packages, security applications, monitoring tools, etc.
Write/debug shell programs for cron, security checking, backup, etc.
Work with CPanel and WHM.
Troubleshoot and solve server problems regarding security, mail, dns, apache, firewall, spamming etc.
Support technically and lead the team of frontline 'Customer Support Officers'.
Conduct technical sessions to enforce the team members.
Attend technical queries from server administrators,

Nature of job: Provide Linux Server Administration and Technical Support to clients.



Technical Skills

Server Management:

· Strong Exposure to Network Architecture and Security on Linux servers.
· Web Servers - Apache 1.3.x/2.0.x, (expertise in configuring apache modules: mod_dosevasive, mod_security ( 1.x/2.x versions), mod_rewrite etc ).
· Networking - TCP/IP, NFS, Telnet, FTP, DNS, DHCP, netstat, xinetd.
· Mail - SMTP, POP, IMAP, Sendmail , Exim .
· Kernel compilation: Good experience in kernel compilation, 2.2, 2.4 and 2.6.
· Admin Tools - mytop, vmstat, iostat, top, traceroute, ping, sar, ntop, memcheck , psacct for Process Accounting etc.
· Backup - tar, cpio, dump (ufsdump)
· Security Protocols/Services/Tools - SSH, SSL, IPchains, IPtables, TCP Wrappers.
· Port scanners: nmap, superscan
· Vulnerability Scanners: Nessus , Nikto
· Exposure in Logical Volume manager and RAID in LINUX. Creating, extending and reducing the volume in the Linux machines.
· Crash Recovery of file systems - Using fsck

Web hosting Tools:

· Good knowledge in web hosting Control panels such as Cpanel, WHM, Plesk
· Managing User Accounts, File Systems, Security, Disk Usage and Backup.
· Server restoration and transferring of accounts between all types of server.
· Setting up new servers and installing server monitoring softwares like Nagios, MRTG etc for 24/7 server monitoring.
· PSAD – Port Scan Detector
· PRM – Process resource Monitor
· PMON – Process Socket Monitor

Knowledge in Security Installations/Configuration

· Installing and configuring software Firewalls (APF and CSF)
· Installing and configuring rootkit detection software
· Extended Binary Hardening
· PAM Resource Limiting
· Inetd , Host.conf & Sysctl Hardening
· Installing Brute Force Detection software (APF+BFD)
· Tweaking MySQL
· Compiling PHP to the Latest Stable Version, PHP Hardening (Tweak php.ini & disabling of insecure PHP functions)
· Install Mod_security apache module with latest custom rules
· Tripwire installation and configuration
· Mailmon - Sendmail monitor installation
· ClamAV - Antivirus toolkit installation
· Implement Forge Helo protection
· Setup RBL integrated with major Spam databases
· Spamassassin installation
· Kernel Update (with Grsecurity )

Database Administration:

MySQL 4.x/5.x

Linux Security Tools handled

Iptables, TCP Wrappers, APF, Rkhunter (Rootkit Hunter), chrootkit , CSF

Networking Skills

TCP/IP Concepts, IP Sub-netting.
Install, configure and upgrade the network hardware and software components.
