SharePoint is one of the fastest growing businesses at Microsoft, and is central to our mission of extending Office as a solutions and server platform. As a product manager in the Information Worker Business Group, you’ll have the opportunity to help define the partner strategy and build an ecosystem of industry and business partner solutions for the Microsoft SharePoint platform.

Key Responsibilities include:

1.     Engage with strategic partners such as SI’s and ISV’s who will build industry, vertical and business solutions extending the SharePoint platform.

2.     Creating programs to evangelize, recruit, and ready partners on the Microsoft Office SharePoint and Windows SharePoint Services platforms.

3.     Driving the SharePoint partner strategy and plans for industry, vertical and business solutions.

4.     Defining the core value proposition for each partner type and customer segment, particularly systems integrators and independent software vendors, at the local, regional, and global levels.

5.     Develop the tools, resources and guidance to enable our worldwide sales and marketing teams to recruit, grow and nurture industry, vertical and business partners.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to:

•  Think strategically about partner business models and the ability to translate this thinking into successful partner recruitment, readiness and go-to-market activities

•  Collaborate across groups within Microsoft, in particular the EPG, DPE and Industry Marketing teams to formulate and drive programs to build the SharePoint partner ecosystem

•  Be a self-starter who can create high-impact ideas, clearly prioritize activities and deliverables, manage multiple projects effectively and drive them to completion.

•  Effectively communicate at executive levels both within Microsoft and with partners.

We are looking for a highly motivated, results-driven strategic thinker, where leadership is a critical success factor. At the core of this role is a solid and demonstrated knowledge of server-based technologies and products, marketing and business fundamentals, and a particular focus on partnerships, growing partner eco-systems, and enunciating clear value propositions. A passion for excellence, thinking, and taking on big new challenges is essential. We need someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and dive deep into the issues to understand key competitive challenges and winning marketing and product responses. A proven ability to work across virtual teams and motivate others within and across Business Groups and International subsidiaries is essential.

This position requires excellent oral and written communications abilities, and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to think independently, and work well in teams. Qualifications include: a deep understanding of our technology, 5+ years of high-tech marketing experience, and the ability to think analytically and creatively about business and competitive issues. Qualifications should include a BA/BS degree in a related field and or proven experience in consulting/technical pre-sales work. MBA strongly preferred.
